Operating Guide for PAKCOOL® Thermally Conductive Grease

Application Process
1. Preparation and Storage Before Use:
          Thermally conductive grease can be stored at room temperature for approximately 12 months. If oil oozing occurs during storage, it shold be stirred thoroughly before being used. The goods in cartridge package, which  can not be stired in package, should be stored in horizontal and be used within one month, not exceeding three months. Storage in low temperatures (< 0°C) may slow down the oil oozing. Products that stored in low temperature should be warmed up in 25°C for 2~8 hours before use.

2. Application Method and Process:
           The interface surfaces should be cleaned with alcohol to remove dust before thermal grease is applied on the surface.

            After dispensing an appropriate amount of silicone grease onto the interface, press and adhere the cooling surface (or heating surface) together, ensuring that all bonding surfaces make contact with the grease. Finally, fix the heat sink with screw or other fastener.
3. Unused Products:
          Ccover the unused jar with the lid and store at room temperature. For cartridge products used in dispensing machines, it is recommended to remove the cartridge from the machine and tightly secure the outlet cap for storage. If it is necessary to leave the cartridge in the dispensing machine, release any air pressure or piston pressure after removal. The grease in opened jar or cartrige should be used up as soon as possible.

Precautions
  • If the material of the device surface has high oil absorption, the grease coated on the surface will become thicken and dry out significantly. The surface of the device should be treated to make it non-absorbent. The device material can be considered as non-absorbency if the state of the grease does not changed significantly after being applied on the surface for 24 hours at room temperature.

Screen Printing Process

         The material used for screen meshes is typically nylon. The thickness of the coating applied during the screen printing process is related to the mesh count of the screen. A lower mesh count means a larger diameter of the mesh openings, which results in a thicker coating under the same printing conditions. The table below illustrates how different mesh counts correspond to different coating thicknesses:
